Sousan — minimalist living × lean systems

Sousan is the personal brand of MO Studio co-founder Sousan, and also MO Studio's own testing ground. It looks at the era's anxieties for women in their 30s (career / wealth / relationships) through a subtractive lens. Dual-track: ① minimalist living (acquisition, Tuesday newsletter) ② lean systems for personal branding (conversion, Saturday newsletter). Product lines: a 90-minute consultation + an e-book series.

Sousan — minimalist living × lean systems

01 · Needs

Client needs

  • · Headless architecture — Next.js front end + WordPress back end separated (editing experience + speed)
  • · Two dual-track newsletter subscriptions (living on Tuesday + systems on Saturday)
  • · SEO content architecture — three clusters around 30-something women's anxieties
  • · Visuals: sharp, direct, Traditional Chinese, no emoji

02 · Problem

The problem they faced

This is Sousan's own personal brand, with no external-client conflicts of interest — which makes it the strictest client. A feature that isn't smooth to use yourself shouldn't be sold to clients. lashiblog is MO Studio's internal standard.

03 · Goals

Website goals

  • · Turn a workflow that "works for us" into MO Studio's service blueprint
  • · Double validation of headless speed + WordPress editing experience
  • · Sustainable two-newsletter cadence — newsletter growth >100/month, open rate >40%
  • · Prove out the consulting + e-book product lines — at least 1 consult per week

04 · Approach

Our approach

Next.js 16 + WordPress headless: WP as the editing back end + REST API feeding content, Next.js fully static + Cloudflare R2 images. Jet CCT `email_form` for subscriptions (shared with MO Studio's flow). SEO silo split into career / wealth / relationships clusters. A Threads → IG → newsletter funnel. Visuals use a sharp, direct, Traditional-Chinese editorial template, primary color #1A1A1A.

05 · Outcome

Outcome

✓ Headless architecture live — lashiblog.com

✓ Steady two-newsletter cadence (living on Tue + systems on Sat)

✓ Became MO Studio's "internal dogfood standard" — run it ourselves before serving clients

⏳ Subscribers / open rate / consult conversion / e-book sales — tracking ongoing

06 · Learning

What we learned

Your own brand is the strictest client. A feature that isn't smooth to use yourself shouldn't be sold — that's the source of MO Studio's service blueprint. We went headless not because it's trendy, but because editing is genuinely smooth and the speed is genuinely fast.
