MO Studio × Mandy Tsai is a design studio co-founded by Mandy Tsai and Sousan. Animal-friendly is our core, but we take on any small brand, creator or shop that wants a website. This site is MO Studio's own "dogfood" — we run our own workflow through it, validating before selling to clients.

02 · Problem

The problem they faced

MO Studio's own brand went through three versions: v1 sharp "doctor" tone, v2 animal-industry vertical only, v3 expanded to 5 segments + AI planner + 4 client models. Each pivot got closer to what real leads actually look like. The biggest challenge: our own site has to be a portfolio, a service explainer, a lead machine, and a demo for clients — four roles, one entrance.

Our approach

v3 stack: Next.js 16 (App Router) + React 19 + Tailwind v4 + Turbopack. Mandy's 36 illustrations integrated (hero arch / banner / icon / divider / footer deco / case banner). Notion lead DB with 26 properties (incl. reference-image upload + human-review quote_status flow). Direct R2 presigned-URL upload for client reference images (24h lifecycle auto-clean). Form anti-abuse trio: hCaptcha + rate limit + honeypot. /contact dual-writes to WordPress + Notion (resilient).

06 · Learning

What we learned

Your own site being a client-facing demo — Mandy + Sousan dogfooding together is how you find the real workflow pitfalls (asset delivery / copy voice alignment / repeated pricing models / the three sync rounds of landing Mandy v1.1). "Works for us" is the prerequisite for selling to clients. This case is a living sample of MO Studio's service model itself.
